A Weekend in Paris

PARIS, FRANCE

WHERE TO STAY

LE METROPOLITAN

Whether you are travelling from Charles De Gaulle, Paris Orly or Gare du Nord, it won’t be long until you’re relaxing in your beautifully furnished room, and enjoying views of the Eiffel Tower.

Located in the city’s 16th arrondissement, this boutique hotel is the perfect place to spend a weekend in Paris.

A part of the Tribute Portfolio family, the beautifully decorated rooms of Le Metropolitan aim to create a connection with each of its guests. They provide an amazing experience, and service that is second to none, it will be a weekend you’ll never forget.

As soon as you step into the lobby, the ambience and stunning fireplace make you feel at home. Tribute Portfolio Hotels pride themselves on character, and the brushed oak, black Zimbabwe granite, and bespoke furnishings have it in spades.

The views offer everything you want from Paris. Tall, cream colored buildings with elegant black railings, quiet little streets, and if you treat yourself to their suite, you can enjoy a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower.

After a long day of travel, relax in their luxury Hamam Spa, float around in their indoor wave pool, and taste French cuisine in their restaurant before winding down in their bar with a cocktail.

After a good night’s sleep, you’ll be ready to spend a wonderful weekend in Paris.

WHERE TO EAT

IN YOUR SUITE

With a view like that, why wouldn’t you eat a beautifully made continental breakfast of freshly baked croissants, coffee and macaroons while gazing at the Eiffel Tower?

LE METROPOLITAN RESTAURANT

The hotel restaurant has a delicious menu that prides itself on using seasonal produce from local markets. Seafood is the main focus of this extensive menu, however, their Aberdeen Angus Chateaubriand and lemon meringue pie are also favourites.

CAFE de FLORE

Located in St-Germain, this cafe has a place in Parisian history. Cafe de Flore is 130 years old, and has seen legends in the arts and philosophy walk through its doors.

Walking into the building, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, as little has changed since it’s art deco makeover in the 1920’s. Imagine sipping coffee in the same room where Pablo Picasso once did!

ODETTE

If you aren’t looking for it, you may miss this little Parisian cafe famed for it choux pastries. Since opening in 2013, Odette has become a well known for this often overlooked pastry.

Of the nine traditional flavours to choose from, choux a la creme and chocolate were my favorite. Depending on when you visit, they may have some seasonal ones too.

From here you can take a walk over to my favourite perfume shop. Office Universelle Buly is a beautiful little store that smells as good as the pastries taste. They sell wonderful perfumes, candles and skincare products and the customer service is amazing.

WHAT TO DO

TAKE IN THE SIGHTS

You have a whole weekend in Paris to take everything in!

As the hotel is so close to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc De Triomphe, it would be a crime not to explore the sights.

From the hotel, you can wander over to the Arc De Triomphe, and make your way down the Champs-Elysees. Here you’ll find one of the best shopping experiences in the city!

From there you can visit the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, before winding your way down the Seine. The Eiffel Tower then awaits with a stunning view of the Parisian skyline.

I personally loved finishing my days in Paris with a walk around the The Tuileries Garden, a public garden located between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde in the 1st arrondissement. Created by Catherine de' Medici as the garden of the Tuileries Palace in 1564, it was eventually opened to the public in 1667 and later became a public park after the French Revolution. I’ve had picnics here in the Spring and is as magical as an Autumn walk with a cup of coffee.

LOUIS VUITTON FOUNDATION

The Louis Vuitton Foundation is a museum that champions modern and contemporary art. Its exhibits serve a diverse audience, as it aims to promote young, up-and-coming artists as well as those that are well established.

It is currently running an exhibition to honour a leading figure of the XX Century Design, Charlotte Perri. Her work sparks conversations about the role of women and art in society though a range of pieces that include architecture, furniture, photography and drawings.

MONMATRE

Take the metro to one of my favourite neighbourhoods, Monmatre. This is one of the most photogenic places in Paris. Here you will find Le Consult and the Pink Mama restaurant, to name a few. You’ll also find magnificent pieces of street art and little shops selling the most beautiful products.

The Sacre Coeur a short walk away and offers one of the best views of the city.

LE GALLERIES VIVIANNE

This stunning shopping arcade was built in 1823, and when you enter, you could be stepping back in time. From the intricate mosaic on the floor, to the glass ceiling, you will be left mesmerized.

Every store window, from the optician to the salon is chic and elegant. Even on a busy day, it offers a quiet shopping retreat from the bustling streets of Paris.

MUSEE RODIN

The magnificent Hotel Biron and its surrounding gardens are enough of a reason to visit this beautiful museum. The Hotel was Rodin's home towards the end of his life, and it's now where his most famous works are on display.

In the gardens you will find "The Thinker", and if you visit in the summer, the rose garden will be in full bloom. Inside beautiful building, you will find a chronological installation of his work, and pieces from his own collection from fellow artists.

When you've taken everything in, you can sit in the garden cafe with tea and cake, and enjoy this green haven in the middle of the city.

THANK YOU!
